just been thinking, is it worth investing in the 3sgte block girdle http://twosrus.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=22_31&products_id=297 i am running the gen 2 motor and hoping for 400-450 rwhp

I bought the girdle when I did my build a while ago 316rwkw. Although I paid $500 so that price is much nicer :)
It does also give you slightly increased oil volume as well.
I'd buy it again.

I just read why they are so cheap. I wouldn't bother in that case. Too much stuffing around.

yeah that was my only problem, i mean it shouldnt be too hard as i already have the arp main bolts cut etc, i am just tossing up whether its worth the hassle or not, thankss for the comment mate

I think the block will be fine without the girdle on that kinda power, but it might make it arguably more reliable.

3SGTE's have no issues with crank walk so those are a waste of money (meaning money better left in your pocket)

I dont think they actually fitted it up solely for crank walk.
 
Either way, I have a girdle w/ studs and spacers I'd probably look at selling.  If the engine ever gets back together I will be running the caldina pan which means this girdle will not work.  Have been considering making myself a custom item but we'll see.

James - what sort of price would you look at selling it for?

also finally got the rest of my braided hoses to finish off the coolant and w/a overflow lines.
 
and regarding the girdle, its more to prevent the flex through the block, causing cracks in the cyclinder walls.

got a small bit of work done today:
- the tein flex were pulled out so I can rebuild them
- all the overflow/catch cans have been mounted, just need to plumb the oil catch can now
- intercooler piping complete, just need to plumb back the bov to the intake
