Hi Guys,

I'm James from Melbourne, thought it was time to introduce myself. Been lurking the forum since purchasing my mr2 2 years ago.

Bought the car primarily to use for track events. Been a great car so far and looking forward to really developing it further. Its fairly standard as is and has had only a few modifications done at this stage with more planned.

Current:
Upgraded cams from standard.
Turbo Engine Lid with added thermo fan
Shine Auto Spec-A Front Lip
Aftermarket Sunroof removed from roof (Car was originally hard top)

Planned:
Brake Upgrade (Nissan Caliper) Upgrade
Aftermarket ECU (Stock ECU struggles with bigger cams)
17" wheels to fit brakes (unsure yet, finding the right size/offset) + Semi slick tyres.
Coilovers

I plan to drop registration off as I now have a vehicle to tow the car to the track with. Plus 3 registrations a year is ridiculous money.

Look forward to improving my car and maybe even participating in MR2 events.

As purchased:

Plasti-dipped Blaze Green Wheels

Loaded up after Phillip Island Event

Welcome to the forum, nice clean car you have, and sounds like some sound plans you have for the car.

On a side note, how awesome are those trailers!! Im assuming you hired it from PMC, or did you buy it?

Trailer was so simple to use and towed like a dream. Only hired that. Don't have the money or the space to store it.

I like the TRD detailing of the Nissan brakes. ;-)

Been quite a while since I last updated this post. A lot has gone on since the brake upgrade. Managed to get 2 track days in and so far very impressed with its performance. When it came to my yearly run at Wintons 6 hour regularity, the car decided to throw and engine light. Unable to determine the fault over the weekend, it ended with the fact something in the ECU had died (unable to read any codes following the manual).

Since then, I've been installing the new Link G4+ Storm I purchased and the car itself is running and ready to book in a tune. I've also changed the cam cover seal (oil found in Cyl 2 and 3 plug wells) and freshened up the intake and cover with a coat of paint. Was a mammoth task of finding the right seals for the cover. Turns out my car is a JDM import with and Australian delivered engine swapped into (for whatever reason I do not know).

On top of it all, I managed to paint and fit the Phoenix Power boot lid and spoiler I purchased from Japan.

Looking forward to getting it tuned and back out onto the track.
