Firstly welcome to the forums. I'm curious, are the owner that first brought the car down from sydney, or are you the new owner (the first melbourne owner was planning on selling it last i saw of the car.)
 
Hope it treats you well, and most of the problems have reared their head already, and you get to enjoy it at the track.

Good to finally see your car. Would be great see you on the track one of these days.
I had similar issues when I was taking my car to the track so you are not alone with these issues.
Any times available from both your trackdays?
Are you installing a cage?
Are you looking at fitting water to air intercooling? Seems to be pretty effective for some of the guys.
 
 

Alrite. Check the front end of the car, the previous owner hit an animal and the front end got a little bit damaged - check the radiator got mounted properly.

So you can drive the car on the road but need a trailer for insurance if it breaks?
If so, I am sure you could work out something with some people who are expected to be there in 2015. The other option is to wing it to the event. If it breaks, hire a one way trailer then hitch a ride!
With the heat issues, you could just take the engine cover off? One thing for certain, I will not miss this headache next time round..
