IMPORTANT - MT COTTON HILL CLIMB - Sunday 19 October 2014 - ROLL CALL
 
Club members have asked about having competition events so here is the first big chance.
 
We have been given ten places at the MG Car Club MT Cotton Hill Climb Circuit "Come and Try" on Sunday the 19th of October 2014. These events are heavily over-subscribed and with our ten places the entries have been closed earlier today!
 
To repeat what I said on a previous post:
1. The cost of the event, which runs from 7.00am to 11.00am, is $50.00. 
1. You do need a CAMS license Level 1 but the MG Car Club will issue you one on the day for $25.00 (makes a total of $75).
2. There is a noise limit, but based on a past visit unless you have no muffler at all you should be OK. (Domma? YES!)
3. It is run very professionally, you do training and track walk sessions under supervision before you get to do a run.
4. The circuit has fully computerised ELECTRONIC TIMING, so other Club members can cheer you on.
5. P Platers are permitted.
6. Helmets are required, plus full length clothing, but not fire extinguishers or other race gear.
7. There is a spectator area with good seating, plus an excellent pits area.
8. Unlike the QR, Downshift, Lakeside, etc; "Happy Laps" if you want to go around 20 times there is probably time to do this.
9. In Hill Climbing you are really racing yourself, so don't worry about others with more powerful cars.
10. The Club will provide a trophy for the most improved Club member on the course in an MR2.
 
There is a testing competition after lunch but a full CAMS Level 2 license is required for this and registration is separate.
 
I have been asked to get members names as quickly as possible and some members have already asked me to put their names down on the Roll Call, but once we reach the ten names then that is it. When names are received I will immediately send out a PM with the Entry Form attached. Instructions on how to pay the $50.00 are included with the Entry Form but the $25 for the CAMS license is to be paid on the day.
