I don't have GC sleeves, but have the HSD versions (http://www.otomoto.com.au...7/1/sleeve-kits.html).
I run Koni Yellow inserts with 3kg/mm front springs, 6kg/mm rears.
Springs are $100/pair if I want to change the spring rates.

Hows the ride on them mate?

Body roll etc?

The ride is firm, little bumpy on the rough roads around my region, but nothing horrible (I don't get out of the car with sore kidneys or a broken back). Body roll is alright, but I have a whiteline sway bar on the front and an SW20 turbo rear sway bar on the back, so they are probably doing more work then the spring rates.

Overall, I think this will be very "YMMV", as each persons preferences are different, however you cannot go wrong with the Koni shocks as apart of your suspension.

GC's have a great rep when coupled with konis. Comparing the ride against other brands wouldn't be a true indication as I've tried Buddyclub versions on another car then GC's & there was a world of difference.

Spring rate is a factor as hinted at before.

Yer I actually had konis in my MK1.5 and I loved them.

Get Konis. 12kg/mm front. 7kg/mm rear. No swaybars. Win at life

Mine has seen plenty of pot holes and bad roads, no cracked windscreen yet :)

Spring rates twisting the chassis? Must be pretty soft or rusty haha
