Hey all, In my showroom thread for my MR2. I did post a image that features a kit car.
I thought I would create a thread to show it off directly.

My father brought 4 years ago for (AUD) $3000 with a damaged motor (Mitsubishi Galant) and have been working on it ever since. It had a rusted out floor pan, engine cover was missing rain soaked it all the way through. It was parked 2 houses down from my place, seen in tall grass never moved about 3 years before.

It's called a Purvis Eureka F4 -Complete fiberglass body, built on a Volkswagen 1600 chassis.  It's mainly my fathers car, although I pitch in and help on it.

Currently it runs on a Alfa romeo motor. Alfasud adapter onto the VW gear box. Ford XR8 electric blue, no doors this works by hydraulics. This is not licensed, mainly we are testing and making sure it passes WA Pits.

*Interior image is outdated I will have to take a new one.

Alfa Romeo 33 Cloverleaf

If the Alfa cannot last, we will upgrade and get a 1995 Subaru WRX Sti that will go in with a new gear box.

WRX motor would sound funny coming from a car like that. Needs a big V8 with quad exhausts.

Wow, this brings back some fun memories!!

<warning 70s references>

An uncle of mine who was a fibreglasser worked with Allan Purvis in Dandenong (I think) building these in the 70's, and my father had one as a project car.  It was "Tangerine" colour, same as your before photos, and was fitted with a 2.7L Chev Corvair air cooled flat 6.  The details I remember are sketchy but I think the engine had to be configured to run backwards to work with the VW transaxle.

I'm pretty sure Dad's was the original 'Sport' model, released prior to this improved PL30.  The instrument cluster was much narrower and was mirrored on the passenger side without gauges, and Dad fitted an 8-track there (anyone here remember those?), and the roofline was lower.  It also did not have the scoops behind the side windows, just gaping contoured holes which I think carried cooling air to the engine.

I'll try and find some photos of it - I took heaps with a (very popular at the time) Magicube equipped 126 cartridge film box camera.

We think WRX as we have met a Eureka owner, he had a WRX motor in one. It didn't require any modification to original body work or the engine mount. As I said though; it will only have a WRX motor if the Alfa motor die's on us. I personally don't want to strip the rear of the Eureka again.
