Certainly is shaping up to be a competive weekend. Could call it the 'MR2 interstate shootout'.
Wonder who can come up to represent Tassie,S.A.,N.T. and W.A...
Also like the idea of a show and shine/soundcloud for people who prefer bass and polish instead of circuit work.
Have also put Wakefield on notice for booking out all the accomodation at the track. So we set up our cars in the garages, walk the track then turn off at the last turn where the cabins are located for food and drinks and sleeping quarters for 45+ people. In the morning, we have breakfast, walk across the track, open your garage then its game on. I have done this a few times and its the best way to enjoy a few days at the track.

I'm definitely in. Even if the MR2 has blown up again, I will bring the GT4.

Great to see. Try and keep that MR together and make some use of those tyres I sold to you.
I did miss a few who will at least be there for the cruise and hang out for the day so would have to be 20+ very interested.
I also thinking of putting together a lucky door prize for hot laps in my car if people are interested. Just a thought..

Looks good voodoo.
After invitation to the MR2 NSW Club monthly meeting on Wednesday the topic of the trackday was been raised. We breifed the proposal with full support being provided by the club. We will be sitting down to discuss it more over the next few weeks.
Pricing will be a packaged with a few options available.
MR2 NSW members will receive discounts with discussion on interstate members receiving discounts.
All packages will include a t-shirt,entry,accomodation but will vary based on what you wish to do.
A thread will be started for a competition for a t-shirt design. Figured this would appeal to a few people.
Also would like to have idea's for naming of the event which will also be used on the shirt, website.
We are looking at video and magazine coverage which will happen with the right numbers and based on current response, we should get there.
A friend is the commentator ar Winton and Wakefield and may be available for commentary to add a little extra to the weekend.
The format is not finalised as yet but it will be something like this:
Monday:
7am:Scrutineering
8-11am Open pit lane. Passenger laps.driver training, etc
11:15-1pm Hillclimb practice
1-1:30pm Lunch.
1:35-3:30 Hill climb comp
4pm-6pm 1/8 mile drags
7pm till 10pm. BBQ and music. May have DJ for chill session in the pit area
Tuesday
8am
Formated sessions of 5 sessions per hour.
Timing will available for the day.
2pm will be the begining of our time attack shootout. More on this later
If there is enough support for more drag racing on the Tuesday, this can be considered.
Trophy presentation at 4-30pm.
Will also be doing a track walk on the Monday night and Monday morning for those up early enough.

Cheers

There will be a program organised for people interested in a cruise to the track, show and shine then a bit of drag racing

New year might be a problem as my work is very strict about taking time off in that zone... Although it sounds like an awsome event.. I will watch this thread for exact dates, might be able to swing a couple of qld members down too...

That great news Knightous, looks like we should include some drifting based on your pic.

Bonikal is coming, Robk will be there too(if he is in the country), Jaemus is in, will contact Will Grilo for photoshoots. Expect he will also bring a car down for some laps.
Robk is keen on all events which is great to see. Im really looking forward to seeing his car doing some work.

If we get enough interest, I will contact Toyota Australia to see if they will bring the Supra GT500 along for display purposes. Its a long shot but could be worth the effort.
Adrian mentioned he could also organise the WRC Corolla to be there for display and some laps with Rick Bates at the wheel.
If Rick Shaw is able to drive, he will be taking mine out to see just how fast it will go. If he cannot make it, Mike Navybox will grab the wheel to see what can be done. These are the only two I would trust taking my car to the limit. Im looking for a 1.05.8. on semi's. Optimistic but need to have a goal.

Also need to see if I can contact the owners of the old Bathurst 24hr cars. Will see what I can do this week.
We threw a few names around at the MR2 NSW meet with one of the guys coming up with "The MR2 Club Challenge 2013". Any thoughts?
As for a T shirt design, any ideas?
