Hey Guys

I know I am asking a few questions but I need this car ready by Friday.

My next issue is, I have taken the heater core lines out, from above the fuel tank, and not using a heater at all in the car so I have just re-circulated the lines in the engine bay. But I need to know how much coolant should the cooling system now take?

I have also eliminated the original filler neck for one down closer to the head, and the piping that runs along the fire wall next the filler pipes for the fuel.

Turn the motor over so the water pump can push the water (and bubbles) out of the system.

Your system sounds near on identical to mine (PWR rad in mine though), I didn't measure but best guess is also ~ the 12L mark.  Defo more than two 5L containers.  Mine had a few days to bleed before start up as I had other stuff to do but still drank some more on start up.

yeah no worries thanks mate, i have been walking out to the shed roughly every hr and topping it up, so I have 3 days of doing that so I will see how it goes.

I doubt you'll get it completely bled without firing the engine up and getting it up to operating temperature.  It always seems to take at least a couple more litres after warming up.

The manual says something like 14 liters for the whole stock system.
But on my NA I have only ever been able to drain out about 9 liters.
I think part of the reason for the slow fill is because the air has to slowly bleed out through the thermostat jiggle hole.

yeah no worries thanks mate, I  will just keep checking it and topping it up as required as I still have a few days to get as much as i can into the system
