Being back at work again is wrecking me, by the time I get home I've lost all motivation to do anything on the car... I'll get there eventually

Well, Im not far off but Im 400km from home! Im trying to be back in Sydney by 12pm Sunday, fix the water leak I discovered then get to the track by 5:30. I will still need to work on the car that night along with final prep for the trackday. Other wise all done. I did 14hrs yesterday in 39 degree heat. I slept well..
 
 

Any tire changing / wheel balancing facilities at Wakefield Park?

So I have to take my car back to the mechanic because whilst I was having my brake and clutch fluids and my alignment fixed up I got him to put in gearbox oil and said use gl4
Upon leaving noticed it was crunching second gear rang him when I got home
Nope he used gl5
Grrrr so many swear words right now as he said it was "better" then gl4
Well it is but not when it comes to synchros it's not... So will be having gl4 put it in
Anyone got any recommendations on decent oil to put in it?

I run gl5 in mine with no issues so just give it some time and see how it goes.
We need two volenteers to help on the first day due to the running of two tracks. From 9-1, after that, we are ok. Would also be great to have a photgrapher at the top of the hill when the hill climb is on, as some of the angles you can get when cars are blasting across the top of the hill will,be brilliant.

Don't give it time, it won't get any better. Just get Caltex Easy Shift 75w-90 GL4. Exactly as Toyota recommended. I've been running it for a long time.

Yeah I took it for a drive yesterday trying to give it a good run but to be honest it's got worse so took it back this morning
He had no gl4 so refunded my money I went for a stroll over to super cheap whilst he drained it out
I couldn't get the penrite so I went for the Nulon smooth shift sae 80 manual fluid that was gl4

That's in it now was a little crunching till it worked in a couple of gear changes now is perfect a lot better then before I had it changed in the first place very happy
Also a few guys here run it and have had good things to say so I guess that's why I out it in :)

But next time probably after the track day I will invest in some amsoil 75-90 gl4 everyone says is the best stuff

Just for the record, do you know what brand of GL5 was put in ?
