Hey mate, how much? Is it as simple as taking the cover off, unclip old circuit board and clip new one in?

Complete ecu's are usually available on Ebay. Here's one if you wanted one complete with the casing instead of nate's one.

Just check the part number on your current ecu lid and ensure you match it. There are a few ecu variants that may or may not work correctly.

My current ecu is 3sge. Should it be 3sgte?
But I'll check park numbers and take your advise on board, thanks alot mate

In your original post you said you wanted an ecu for Gen2 3sgte. But now your saying you have a gen 2 3sge ecu (non turbo) on your 3sgte engine?
Put up the part number and it will be easier to find exactly what you need?
Or are you looking for the correct 3sgte ecu because your current 3sge ecu is making the can run like crap or not at all?

Whatever gen 2 ecu you end up needing they are usually worth about $100, sometimes a bit more, sometimes $50 :)
(A gen 3 3sgte ecu is more like $250-300 though)

Well yeah I just noted what I wanted because to me, a non turbo ecu on a turbo motor didn't seem right. So if I got the part number off the current ecu which may not supposed to be there wouldn't l just get another bad ecu?
Sorry clearly I'm making this difficult with my lack of knowledge.
