I recently cracked both of my headlights to a point where they are both useless and looked at the revision 6 headlight conversion which look good but are quite costly and was wondering what are any options regarding conversions or other options?

you cracked the sealed beam thing or the covers? are the mechanisms ok?

ive forgotten the exact size of the sealed beam thing ... or bulb (i think its a sealed beam???

anyway you can get hologen H4 bulb kits relatively cheaply if the rest of your mech is ok.

I've got a pair of good condition JDM SW20 H4 housings in Adelaide. These are better/upgrade to (older?) "sealed beam" as you can replace the bulbs, with sealed beam you throw it away.
Let me know if interested.

Even if they were not broken you should ditch the old sealed beams.
Their brightness deteriorates over time so that any cars that still have these original units fitted will now be very inferior when compared to the headlights fitted to late model cars.

A simple and cheap upgrade is to fit modern high quality semi-sealed lens/reflectors in combination with high performance halogen globes.
Forget the Ebay plastic cheapies and go for something high quality, but when buying lens assy's buy them in Australia to be sure the beam pattern will be the right way around - left hand drive lenses are different.

I replaced my old sealed beams with Hella lens/reflector units, (Hella part number 1043) along with Phillips Vision Plus globes.
Even though these globes were the stock 55/60w rating the difference was absolutely stunning!!!
This conversion cost me around $200 about 4 years ago.

Thanks for all the info about the lights. i think i wil go with your suggestion reddtarga with buying the hella lenses and did you buy them from hella themselves or from a distributor? both of the lenses are cracked and a so discoloured to a point where they are almost useless but the rest of the housing and motor is fine.

I got my Hella lenses from Bursons, but any auto accessory place should be able to order them in for you.
The size is the common rectangular 200x142 mm. Hella part number 1043.

If you are interested I have a PDF article on this mod that I could send you, if you pm me and include your email. (It 's too large to pm)

Did just the ADM cars come with sealed beams, or were both of the JDM cars I have had already been converted to H4 units by the time I got them?

Also, dont forget to pop the lights and clean them while washing the car.  I did a night navigation rally with a friend years ago, this lights were absolutely crap, it was like having two candles on the front.  He pulled over and I checked them out, they had a massive layer of crap on them!!  A quick wipe over and it was like HIDs had been fitted!!

Cheers

just behind each headlight is a green knob, you can use that to adjust how the headlight covers sits.

If it its more serious than that you will need to remove the headlight unit and adjust how the arms are positioned. But try the first step first.
