Scope

At this time of the year it is usual to take time to reflect on the year that has been. It has been a major year for the club with the hosting of the MR2 Nationals in Brisbane, regular runs and extra events. The AGM saw Walter and Kathy stepping aside for now in their respective roles of President and Run Manager. Thanks again to both for the many hours of dedication they have given to the club. The daunting task of following in their footsteps has fallen to myself and Danny.

Along with the many regular club runs some members have been involved with extra events including; Willowbank Sprints, Mt Coot-tha Hill Climb, Diabetes Hot Pursuit 2015 and Interclub Challenge Events. We hope to continue this variety in the forthcoming year.
The first official club run will be 21st February with a Run Calendar being posted early next year. Please send your suggestions for run directions/locations or any club events/activities you would like included to either myself, Danny or Steve.

This year has also seen many an hour spent on repairs, upgrades and maintenance to club vehicles; some will run again, others must rest in pieces.

With such a full on year there has been many highlights. My personal favourite being when I took the Saturday morning run for the Nationals over Mt Glorious and down to Willowbank. The run over Mt Glorious was clear of all cars, motorbikes, pushbikes and people! The weather was perfect and the roads clean. Just an awesome run.

We would like to wish all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Happy motoring and keep safe.
Craig and Kaylene

Hey Qldrs,

My first year back in qld and with my new bigger project mr2 (get that when you buy a cheaper than cheap mr2). It's been awesome involvement with the club (though the car hasn't made it to all events as planned).

The guys up here in qld are so helpful and friendly - true enthusiasts.

The Best would have to be the Mrs n I starting our first wedding anniversary on the club run from Yatala out to Mt Tamborine :) she's a keeper :) that's the Mrs, the Mr2, this Qld MR2 club :)

On the flip side of all the driving club runs, the tech day was most beneficial in being able to chat with other members and look/understand aspects of the cars greater.

I look forward to more club runs that combine runs with start points north south and west, combining runs with community events and/or other clubs (2door 2 seaters), hopefully some more tech days (suspension, dyno, other care care suppliers involvement, tech day).

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to all,

Cheers

2015 for us has been a year that kept us away from club attendance.  A dramatic increase in the number of rallies I was away on combined with more workshop jobs meant that there just wasn't the time available.  Will 2016 be different?  Not sure yet (my whiteboard is already filling up with event dates), but at least my AW is a step closer to seeing the inside of the workshop.

Merry Christmas, and a safe New Year to you all!

Merry Christmas, everyone. I hope Santa has been kind to you and yours.
I hope you, family and friends have a marvellous day enjoying each others company and all the good things and memories this time of year brings!
2015 was an interesting year for the Queensland Club. Here's hoping for an even better 2016!
Take care and I look forward to catching up with everyone next year.
cheers

Cheers for a great year everyone, I'm looking forward to 2016's MR2 related activities (especially the MTC in Jan with Doug and Eric).

Santa was pretty good to me this year, I have another 1985 green/silver mk1a AW11! I'll be keeping this one original and drag it out to show & shine events (after the rear wing is fixed).
