Hi Guys,
New to the club and representing Ipswich.
Just brought a 90 MR2 Turbo, black and dropped. Always wanted an MR2, had a couple of MX5s but nowhere near the power of an MR2.

Currently in the shop, needs a few fixes from the previous owner but nothing major.
 

I reckon it should be back on the road next week.
Been on a cruise with a different car club, mix of cars, but keen for a run with a few other Mr2s.
As soon as I'm back on the road i'll been keen if anyone else is around.

   I see that you have bought Anthonys sdub it will be good to meet you on some runs...hopefully you will be able to hang on to your licence better then Anthony lol

Gday everyone. I just bought my first MR2 yesterday. I've always liked them and test drove a couple in years gone past before ending up with other vehicles - most recently a Soarer twin turbo that I've owned for almost 3yrs and used as a street/track car which has been great fun but it's time for a change. I wanted an MR2 this time, and when I found this one I pretty much had to have it - it's a 1990 SW20 with mod plated 3VZ-FE swap :) Some of you will no doubt know the car. I don't have any photos yet so I'll just link a couple from the ebay ad:


I'm absolutely loving it so far. Can't wait to take it for a proper drive on some nice roads this weekend! 
 
The plan is to have it as a fun weekend car and do a few track days as I have been with the Soarer and other cars before that - 180SX, JZA80 Supra, R32 GTR, and a handful of Datsuns...

Looking forward to getting involved with some club runs and track days - I've been browsing the MTC threads. They get an impressive turnout of MR2s, and look like great fun.

Welcome Harry.  Looks good.   Join the Qld club runs. One on 24-4- 16.
MTC is the greatest few days available in Aus. Really good atmosphere. Genuine blokes.
Ive taken about 12 days the last 2 yrs to attend MTC and then head up into the NSW and VIC high country mountain passes. Fabulous roads.  I never just go down the Hume. Pain in the a###.

Am an old member but haven't been around for several years. My name is Barry and own a 1990 SW20 GT.
Some of you may remember me from working at Fulcrum Suspensions (16yrs) but other may recognize the car..it is black and covered in TEIN stickers with green blotches all over it. I ended up taking it off the road when I blew a turbo seal and unfortunately also my license. That was 5 years ago. Since then have been getting around in my Hilux. Whilst the Hilux is still a black Toyota it aint got nothing on the SW20. Have pulled the car cover off it and got the new turbo fitted finally. Got a minor issue with the Autronic ECU to sort but after that and (if the car god is willing) I will be out on the next run.
Am looking forward to seeing you all then.   :)

Car looks great Barry! I like the design
