@Tralfaz it's an AW11, purchased sight unseen from a lad in Bowen. It was originally red, then it had been resprayed purple (looks like that might even have been a good professional job too!) then someone has decided to paint it matt black (rattle can job) and put some carbon fibre wrap on it (bonnet, roof, engine cover and side vents). They've used the cheapest crap from china that doesn't deform under a heat gun, so it looks really bad.
I'm in the process of removing it now. I'd love to have it repainted back to the original red, but the cost is probably too high. I have sourced some better quality (3M) vinyl from a mate who runs Gold Coast Car Wraps and I'll rewrap it in carbon fibre look again.
The interior is in fairly good condition (seats look as new) and the centre console (over the gear cables) was covered in the vinyl, once I removed it, I found that it too is in almost new condition, bonus. The radio surround and door inlays have been replaced with some really bad wooden (real plastic wood :) ) ones. They're in the bin now and I'm looking for some new (second hand) original ones.
The Inlet has been modified with a K&N cone style air intake, but it is really low down in the engine bay, I'm not happy with that, so I'm looking for a better solution.
I bought it unregistered, so I new I was in for some work. I have just made up a new o/s rear hand brake cable and purchased a new (second hand) door lever ( the little loop that pushes the metal arm down has lost it's head an so won't hold the arm any more) so that I can open the drivers door from the outside :)
Next thing to attack will be the engine mounts (rear one looks like it may already be perished beyond use) and try and work out where the oil stains are from and if there are any actual leaks (sump plug definitely needs a new sealing washer) hoping to have it ready for a road worthy in 4-6 weeks.
The front and rear bumpers need to come off to be unwrapped / rewrapped too. Are there any gotacha's I should know about? I have found any you tube vids on how to take them off yet, so ATM, I'll be looking for the clips and screws as I go...
