Hey guys, I'm Ben, I made it to the start of the sunday run a few weeks ago and met up with a few of the club members at Carseldine. Thought I'd actually introduce myself on here to put a profile to a name etc.

My weapon of choice is a 1991 SW20 packing the 3sgte with some mild modifications internally and externally. The last owner decided to leave the car outside gathering dust on a farm and I've been removing parts and dusting them off (wasp nest in the ac ducts for example) for the total of the 6 months I've owned it. Also in that time I replaced some front end suspension components, disc rotors, pads and a lot of worn out parts in the effort to get the car on the road and track ready for lakeside, morgan park and QR.

Hi,
We are having an open day at Rolin Automotive Imports on the 14th of June in Burleigh Heads - Gold Coast and we would like to know if all members would like to come down [font="arial; font-size: small; line-height: 1.8"]for a sausage sizzle and check out what we do here. We are Importers of JDM engines, half cuts and parts and have recently changed ownership. As well as a sausage sizzle we will have our test bay setup to show everyone how we test our motors and front cuts set up to show you these running as well. Eugene Arendsen from Drift Australia will be here with his drift car, and Good Times Racing’s S14 “Money Pit” drag car may also be attending, We will also have discounts on Intercoolers & Silicon Hose and will offer trade discounts to anyone attending as well as for all of your members. We are expecting quite a few people to come down for the day so it would nice to have you guys here also.

Many thanks
Jarrod

Jarrod,
Hi.
Thanks for the email. I apologise for my slow reply.
Most interesting. I'm sure quite a few of our Club members would be interested in the Open Day.
I'll give you call early next week and discuss. I'll then post up an Invite for interest.
Talk soon
cheers

Hello all :)!

New member here, just bought this 2003 model ZZW30 earlier this week, Monday. Really excited and an absolutely joyful experience driving this along. It came with 18 inch alloys from the previous owner and I think they are a nice fit.

Hi Alan "Ballzy" Ball  here, newbie.  Just bought a very unloved 89 MR2.   Looking to fix the old girl up into a more respectable state, initially for use as a weekender, then, as money allows a track toy.  Agenda:  Get it working; get it registered; get it tidied up (currently hand painted matt black and some really bad vinyl wrapping); improve the handling (springs way too soft); improve the brakes.  New rotors and pads to start with;  lastly, upgrade the engine with a blacktop and aftermarket ECU.
Timeframe 12-18 months.
All offers of help absolutely and very gladly accepted. I'm not proud, I'll also take charity handouts if you've upgraded your car and have bits that IO can use that are better than the current bits I've got :)
I'm based on the Gold Coast, and would like to meet up with like minded nutters, hmm, enthusiasts

Hi Alan. When you say "89 MR2" is it an AW11 or SW20? Toyota produced and sold both models in 1989, although the second shape body model run is normally referred to as 1990 onwards to avoid confusion. This helps anyone who might offer help, or take pity on you with charity parts.

I have an AW11 and an SW20, both were made in 1989, with the AW11 being one of the last 800 produced, while my SW20 has a chassis serial number of 2000 and was manufactured in October of that year. While a bit confusing for registration authorities, the situation provides an opportunity for the driver to closely compare both vehicles as they are somewhat different in power and handling.

Also, in case you aren't aware, this Forum and the various MR Owner's Clubs in each state, although closely connected, are not the same. The Club in Queensland normally publishes its monthly Runs on the Forum and membership of the Club as an Incorporated Association costs $20.00 per year. The Club prides itself on keeping so-called "politics" to a bare minimum and our aim is to simply enjoy the cars.

We would welcome you coming on any Run to see whether or not you would like to join the Club, so keep watching the Forum for announcements.

Hope to catch up in person soon.

Walter
