of course its not hard basic no how could do it yourself and save 150$
but nevermind, at least with toyota your guranteed it will be done right if not the first time they will fix it and make sure its not leaking elsewhere :)

but looks like this will fix your leaks.

Thanks.
"do it myself"??  hahaha you jest, lol.  They might have let me go underneath & have a look, but............

hhmmm..... getting up the courage to ask for someone else to do the work....... thinking............
after all, that is why I decided to go there instead of the mechanic shop I've gone to for ages.

They will be having a different more experienced mechanic work on it. :)

Sometimes it can be hard it identify where leaks are coming from if something is leaking above it (eg. your cam cover) but after they cleaned it and test drove the car, it should have been REALLY easy to see if it was leaking that much...

Just sounds like there wasn't a high quality of workmanship.

Hmm some mechanics just get frustrated quite easily being that mr2s are difficult to work on

yeah, the mechanic that was on it,
is very lazy quoted from  other mehcnaics
and has quite a hatred for mr2s ahah

but all the mechanics hate working on them.

And this is exactly why I don't send my cars to dealerships.

You can get good & bad anywhere, whether it is mechanics or builders, or even hairdresssers (hehehe , had to throw that in).  If they don't fix it right the first time, they have to fix it at no charge.  As the customer we can ask for someone more experienced ....... (courage needed for some of us to do that.......... lol) And as a dealership they should have courtesy cars if it is taking longer than expected, other mechanic shops often don't have loan cars.
There was no problem on the initial service they did for me a couple of weeks ago, so I'm comfortable that the more experienced guy will do a better job.

Back from another trip to the Toyota Doctor.  She was ready & waiting when I got there yesterday.
No more oil leaking onto the garage floor overnight.

Now to see if my temporary fix stops me getting a wet seat........ .  Haven't got around to getting those guide thingy's yet.

Great to hear that your baby is not leaking anymore.........you are right about getting good and bad everywhere, but I still believe Toyota are honourable. Yes, you will sometimes get young and inexperienced mechanics - but everyone has to start somewhere!!

I expect they know you now and will look after you......and you have an inside contact, hey Ethan?? ;-)

Cheers, M
