Not feelin the love today.

Drivers side door still stuck.  Simon tried everything, but it still wouldn't budge.  She is now at Cardiff Toyota, they promised that a qualified person would have a look, not an apprentice.
After picking her up from mechanic on Thursday & having her sit in the garage all weekend, there is still an oil leak, so as soon as she comes back from Cardiff Toyota, she will be going back to mechanic.
Once they fix what they said they were going to fix, I will be asking them if they'd prefer not to work on her.  And if that is the case, look for someone else.  The Subaru guys that were initially doing the favour for the auto electrician seemed to be good & I didn't have to take back to them once they told me she was fixed.  Maybe they'd like to be her regular doctor.

Cardiff Toyota was only for door, not mechanical stuff.  They got door opened,  yaaayyy cleaned up the lock & other bits, so that it keeps opening & closing.  They have recommended a new lock & $500 ish for them to do it.  I'm sure I can get it sorted for way less than that.

Now she is back at Charlestown Steering.  with the oil pump leak fixed the oil has found the next weak spot around the oil level sensor, so at least that is any easy fix.  If I had left the car with them on Thursday night, they would have found that too.  I basically picked it up straight after they did the test drive.

Try giving Adamstown Car Doctors a go.

I use to work there years ago, they produce very high quality work. But like anything, it's not free.

They'll probably mention me when they see what type of car it is

1 year ago today I picked up my baby from Port Macquarie.  I crunched the gears every time I shifted down from 3 to 2, but it didn’t take too long to get used to the double clutch.
I never imagined how driving would become more about the drive than getting from A to B.  And choosing to go on windy roads makes it interesting instead of annoying (I will get quicker, I promise……).  There are some roads that I used to avoid, now they are a bit of fun.  And I’ll make detours just so I’m driving for longer.  I stumbled across the forum while googling for something & found that an MR2 is not just a great car, but a lifestyle with a whole new circle of friends  .  You can be driving down the road, see another 2 & wave & most of the time get a wave back.  And I’m learning stuff that I never thought I’d even care about.  Thanks for all the help & advise you guys have given me.

Things I’ve done since I brought her home

It's always great to hear about fellow MR2 lovers enjoying their cars and using them in the way that they were designed to be used! :-D

Good to check out your update Shaz.
Everyone on here can relate to the joys and frustrations of owning an MR2.

Things been going great.  Friends changed spark plugs & leads for me.  Booked in for new clutch on Monday

Then this morning the dash lights stayed on, wipers were faster than normal.
Turns out the new alternator that was put in in July has failed.  It is a warranty job, but I made the mistake of telling him that she was booked in to my regular mechanic on Monday for the clutch.  He has sourced a new alternator that is supposed to be here on Thursday & he wants to do talk to my mechanic to go around there & do it while he has the gearbox out.
