Thought I'd share some pics of my baby.
Have always loved the MR2.  test drove a few in the past, but never thought I'd ever be able to own my own.
I guess I sorta got it by default.  I wrote off the sensible Hyundai in September & when I was searching for a replacement car this little cutie popped up within my price range.  Didn't take it seriously at first, but the more I thought about it the more I thought "why not".  Sent the guy emails to get info, etc & all looked good.  Went to Port Macquarie to take it for a drive & it turned out that my sister knew the guy's wife.
Needed 2 new tyres, new stereo & it's 200,000 service with timing belt.    Got all that done & am loving it.  Have no idea about the workings of the motor like you guys, but hey it runs well & my mechanic said that I got a good one.
Plus the synchro (not sure about spelling) on 2nd isn't crash hot, so I've had to learn to double clutch it.  Didn't take long, just cant drive in heels any more, lol. I'll get that fixed once I've got some more money.
Love Love Love it.

Welcome to a new lifestyle! Much more street cred than  'sensible Hyundai' - & much more fun!

Lovely example and a nice colour too. Welcome! I agree with the above comment that wider wheels and tyres go along way on the rear of any mr2 especially while driving on a slippery road in the rain. I had 16x7" wheels and 225" tyres on the back and 205" tyres on the front. This upgrade alone made a world of difference. Enjoy it.

It was good to meet up with you guys today .  Thanks for the advice re the tyres.  Even though I've dealt with the same guys for tyres for ages, he obviously steered me wrong.

Thanks for the pic too.

Not at all! Your tyre guy probably went off what the tyre placard recommends for the model. My suggestion should be considered an up grade! You may need to purchase wider alloy wheels. If you prefer a standard appearance A good upgrade would be to fit 2nd to 3rd generation sw20 Mr2 wheels. You'll be able to fit larger tyres to these wheels.
