Looks like I am out too. Still hope to have the swap finished by then but just had to pick up a new work car that was not in the planned budget as well as catching up on 3 years of underpaid workcover fees. Used up the money we had put away for Fiji and/or Tas and even had to borrow the daughters saved money for first car. Will take a while to get back on top of things I think.

^You callin' me a tight arse? (just being sarcastic btw hehe)
Like ol Pete here I also left my $$ outflow unbridled. I'm actually still recovering from the Wakefield Track day at the start of this year believe it or not...

This one is at the top of my bucket list - Nationals weekend, Baskerville track day, and Targa  sections tour, not to mention the ferry trip that should be interesting.
An opportunity like this one only comes along very rarely, so I'll be a definite starter for this one.
Sure it will cost, but should be worth it, and I only hope that my car survives intact for Haunted Hills in November lol.

The pic shows the proposed route for the 6 day tour of the Targa Tasmania sections.

dennis the menace
Following a quick email discussion with Kevin, I'd like to add a Friday activity.

The Mainland contingent is arriving via the Spirit on Friday morning and will be comfortably ensconced in Hobart by mid-afternoon.  My suggestion is for a photo gathering at the summit of Mt Wellington, weather willing of course.  From experience the summit can be a cold and windy place if conditions are not right.  The summit is approximately half an hours drive from the waterfront.  If we pencil in a 5:30 meeting time we still have nearly three quarters of an hour before sunset.  Depending on tourists the carpark should be big enough, and the background will be nothing short of spectacular!

It would then be an easy cruise back down to be at dinner for 7:30.

This trip is going to be amazing!

31st of July 2013 - an important date.

The MR2 Nationals will be held from Sept 27th to the 30th 2013.

However, applications will need to be in before July 31st to take advantage of the Vic MR2 Club negotiated deal with Tas Vacations for both the ferry trip, and the Hobart Motel accommodation over the Nationals weekend. For those interested contact:
nationals@mr2club.com.au
I have also included here, a page from the Victorian MR2 Club newsletter.

I am pleased to advise that there are now at least five cars and ten Club members travelling the 2500-odd kms from Queensland to the Nationals. Money might be tight but isnt it always?

Given the amount of effort that has been put into organising the event, the fantastic roads, only three people left driving in Tasmania after the Greens have made whale-friendly bicycles compulsory,  plus the huge degree of notice to start saving our pennies, the banana benders would not miss this bi- annual MR2 event for anything!
