Track day at Symmons Plains is not confirmed yet. We are also looking at Baskerville circuit near Hobart.

We now have a working Sub-Committee to begin planning the next MR2 Nationals 2013 in Tasmania.  We will be announcing the dates and the location of the Nationals as soon as that decision is made.

The agenda will be similar to previous MR2 Nationals and will inclde a "Show n Shine" a dinner, a couple of Road Stages (open roads obeying all road laws) hopefully following Targa sections (still TBC) and if we can swing it a Track "practice" day. After the Nationals we're planning 5 days touring with great roads and lots of sight seeing to make the most of the costs on the Spirit of Tasmania.

This won't be a cheap event, checking the Spirit of Tasmania cost on-line, at today's prices (with no deals) $928 for both ways, twin cabin, including car.  There are cheaper options if you want a shared cabin or an Ocean Recliner. Add $150+ for the Track day, five or ten nights motel accommodation (if you do the optional 5 days touring) cheaper if you camp, plus meals and petrol.  If you want to go start saving now.

Cheers, Kevin

People planning on attending the MR2 Nationals 2013, when you are 100% sure you are going, can you please email an "Expression of Interest" to nationals@mr2club.com.au

We have made a few decisions.  Baskerville is booked for Monday 30th September 2013.  You will need a CAMS L2S licence or a AASA Licence before the event. This can be done around July 2013.  Information on how to get either of these will be provided in response to your Expression of Interest.

We have arranged accommodation for the MR2 Nationals 2013 in Hobart through a third party at a very reasonable group discount.  The package includes 4 nights accommodations (including breakfast) the MR2 Nationals dinner on the Saturday night, parking on the Government Lawns for our "Show n Shine" on Saturday morning.  All close to where the action is.  To lock in this great deal we need as many people as possible to book now.  Again further details and how to book will be provided in response to your Expression of Interest.

All future up-dates by the Organising Committee will be posted on this section of the Forum and displayed on the opening page of www.mr2club.com.au

Hobart has been named one of the top 10 cities in the world for 2013 by Lonely Planet (the only Australian city with a mention), good timing for the nationals. You can read more at this link http://www.afr.com/p/national/hobart_makes_lonely_planet_top_cities_vL2qLG7Fuc0aaH3SKVAMyI

G'day mate, I will be there in my AW11, have a mate with one too. Have been involved in local motorsport for years, have heaps of contacts, let me know if I can help, especially with the track hire stuff, might be able to get access to some "extras" if I chat to the right people...

We now have 9 Expressions of Interest from MR2 owners other than those who live in Tasmania.  This is shaping up to be an Event not to miss!!! I have booked 20 reserved rooms at the Hobart Motel at a reduced cost, and 20 places on the Spirit of Tasmania for the trip there and return.

The practice day for untimed laps at Baskerville Raceway in Hobart is confirmed for Monday 30th September 2013.  Preference will be given to MR2s, other marques go on a waiting list (if we do not get enough MR2s competing).

To obtain and Entry Form and Booking Forms, etc send an email to nationals@mr2club.com.au and they will be sent to you.  Additional information will be emailed from time to time to those who have put in an EOI.

Have not seen anything about this for a while and had forgotten about it. Maybe some reminders on the forum? I only remembered after the missus had started looking at going to Fiji in Sept. Will have to sort out which way I want to go . Wish I could do both but cost is a problem and this will cost a lot more than the Fiji trip.
