A late night with too many beer and an itchy ebay finger?

Nah... All planned well. I actually made a cardboard version to check that it isn't too big! This one is rated for up to 2000hp so I think it will be good enough. 😁

I'm still making progress. There are still some parts that haven't arrived yet.

On a positive note, I really like Pick N Payless, and I went there today to find a dipstick and tube to fit to my 5SGTE. 
My first attempt at a custom dipstick setup was a failure, so I thought I'd give it another crack. 
For those of you that have a 5SGTE, you will know that the dipstick is very short, and is too close to all the hot stuff.
Today I got a dipstick and tube from an AE101 Corolla.
I had to modify it slightly, though I am very happy with the result. I'll still have to shield the handle somehow, though it is no longer mm away from the manifold.

The new dipstick would have to be an improvement surely. Gen 2 dipstick and oil filter always looked like a bloody horror story to me. I can think of better ways of burning me fingers.
What's the bit of chequer plate visible in the last photo ?

Everything in the engine bay is now complete, except for the exhaust system. Tomorrow's job is to remove the nose and fit the intercooler coolant pump somewhere up near the front. I'll then take the car to the exhaust shop to get a 4" stainless steel system made. 
After that comes the dyno tune, then I'll hit the track for testing. 

I'm looking forward to seeing how it performs!
