Your car looks fantastic! Nice numbers on that turbo too.

I've decided what I am going to buy for my turbo upgrade -
I have learnt how to read compressor maps and can see that the GT3071R is too big for a 3SGTE. It is barely OK for a 5SGTE. The 2871 will work nicely and easily provide me with 300kW at the wheels.
Please let me know your thoughts!

I agree with the GTX 3071 being too big for your engine as mine was too laggy for WP. Maybe a .67 housing may help as well as small port exhaust manifold could resolve it.
As for the plumbing, you really need to go with custom fittings as you will destroy anything you fit directly to the turbo. Having extensions on the plumbing (water/oil) will help a lot with workshop time. I have added a photo of what was done to my 3SGTE. Also have a stainless steel drain pipe as I had done. The braided line perished. This was the oil problem with the car at MTC in 2013.

Glenn they look like nice choices. I believe the GTX series are fond of boost, something you might want to consider researching considering the modest boost you are running now.

fyi mine is a GT3071, not GTX. I reckon its shade too laggy but with a 2.2 it is near perfect. Have a look at the graphs on my build thread for 2.0 and 2.2 and various turbos, keeping in mind the 2.2 numbers on 98 pump not E85.
