Im wondering if it would be ok to mount one of these:

Vertically with the inlet at the top and outlet at the bottom (water), cause it might be an easier fit than trying to put it above the air filter like usual.

The orientation of the core should not affect its performance, as long as you can bleed all the air out of the water jackets etc for maximum efficiency.

what about the addition of the extra 2 90deg bends? Would that be much of a problem?

Can you post some pics and details of how much cutting and any other mods to get the H/E to fit up front with A/C
