My first G-Limited MR2 bought in Hamamatsu in 1999.
Owned it for 8 years, what a great car.
The Toyota Live Sound was killer and I never had to replace anything other than tyres and a set of brake pads.
Passed 3 Shaken inspections without a fault :)
Upgraded to my Current '94 Rev 3 Turbo in 2008.
Here it is in my carport with my bike.

Aim for 20 years?

Feels like an age away but the first 10 years went quick.

Have had mine for "gulp" 25 years...

Congrats! That's a major milestone.

What is the other option. Nothing quite like a two

2019 Suzuki Jimny would pair nicely with a SW20. Pity about the wait times and inflated prices due to demand.

Spent the weekend doing a tidy up - went over it with the polisher and put on two coats of wax. Decided to use the air compressor to blow out the polishing pads instead of washing and replacing them constantly. Worked a treat. AC fan was also starting to make a slight noise. Pulled it out, it looked as I expected after 2 decades... filthy. Removed the fan, cleaned it up and lubricated the bearing.

Not much to report with the MR2. Order a few maintenance parts and installed them on the car back in August.

Replaced the below:
- Ignition leads
- Dist cap
- Rotor
- Front engine mount

A bunch of OEM parts should be arriving soon from Amayama. Starting to prep for a fuel pump replacement. If anyone has any tips and maintenance suggestions while the tank is out, let me know.

We are almost at that time of year to review my fuel economy for 2019 and give the car its top to bottom detail.

Take care not to kink "nylon" high pressure hose from union near engine mount across to fuel filter.
Hose union can be impossible to undo. Tank as near empty as possible. While out, check brass heater pipes for cracking where their brackets are brazed to them. I think it's usually the right rearmost one. Should be rubber mounted on your later model car.(I think).
Inspect inside of tank. Should be shiny silver.(tinned). Maybe clean and an extra coat of paint on outside?
Which pump are you installing? Check all wiring is robust and in really good condition.
Check the several rubber pads glued to tank. They wedge into the tunnel adding rigidity and preventing rattles.
Any extra insulation you can improvise where the wiring penetrates the tunnel is beneficial too. A lot of front tyre noise comes in from there.
