Oooooh. If you need to do more polishing practice Joel, my SuperRed2 Bathurst would be just perfect for the task!

One Super Red MR2 is enough for me! Lots of work but very rewarding to maintain.

I had no dramas with getting the replacement polisher, should arrive during the week. Apparently the fan was installed incorrectly during manufacturing process causing the noise but they couldn't find what caused the sparks. Hopefully the new polisher is trouble free when I get around to trying it out again.

I've been experimenting with a 3D printed AW11 4AGZE dist cap block off. The first version was mounted to the engine without the factory heat shield but did have the extractors heat wrapped. It appeared fine under regular driving but when tested under more extreme conditions and started to deform. I made some minor tweaks to the design. The second iteration will be installed with the factory heat shield and will be monitored for any misshaping.

A few weeks back I attached new personalised number plates to the car. I was tired of seeing the faded standard issue plates. I'm still considering the number plate surrounds. The original plates were fixed to the front plastic mount with oversize screws, the replacement anti theft screws wouldn't catch. Quick easy solution was to drill out the holes out and add nut inserts.

I finished up the detail this morning. It was a full days work on Saturday (10hrs?) + a second coat of wax on Sunday. My appreciation for the skill and patience of professional detailers has deepened. It's hard work and I wasn't aiming for perfection...

The DA polisher is a great tool to add to the arsenal. The finish I achieved with the machine polisher is far more refined than I could ever attain by hand polishing. The original goal was to reduce defects but most important was restore the brightness of the Super Red. I didn't take many photos during the process.

I will get some more photos during the week if I can find a nice quiet spot.

Cheers blokes! Now I'm just worried about the rain that we are expected to get...

I will catch you at the Christmas event, Kris.

Don't be scared of the rain, imagine how good the beadage would be...

See you there.

I finally got around to finding a quiet spot to take some photos. It's been 4 weeks since the detail and the car is still looking fresh. I'm coming up to 10 years of ownership in January!
