News just in Saturday 24th April. One of our MR2 enthusiasts has been killed in the final stages of the Targa Tasmania 2021.
Dennis Neagle, 59, of Withcott, Queensland, was the co-driver. Denis was a dearly loved member of the Queensland MR2 club and was the president for several years. I have very fond memories of Dennis, during our MR2 Nationals in Tasmania in 2013. Denis wouldn't sail on the Spirit of Tasmania so flew, from Launceston to Melbourne while his lovely white SW 20 was driven by his partner, onto the Spirit. Denis was originally from New Zealand and came to Australia to drive in rallies, mainly Targa Tasmania.
He died doing what he loved.
The driver was Leigh Mundy, 68, of Hobart. They were competing in a green 2019 Porsche 911.

Our thoughts are with Dennis's family. They don't call Porsche 911's "Widow Makers" for nothing!

I heard about this on the radio this morning and was floored when they mentioned Dennis's name. He loved what did and was a great guy, my heart goes out to Louise and the rest of the family.

I didn't know Dennis & Louise that well and didn't keep in touch, however the interactions I had with them over the years were like they were old family friends. Such warm welcoming people matched by Dennis's passion for MR2s (particularly the Adub) and motorsport / life in general.

Enjoy the roads beyond the mortal coil Dennis, you have touched many lives and will surely be missed.
