Very neat looking system. Any chance of posting a audio video of the exhaust?

Ok not a huge amount of progress.

I managed to take off the intercooler and give it a clean, and replaced the dead battery.

Had a wonderful fella drop by and clean up some issues I had with the steering wheel and the driver seat (pics to follow)

And After:

The guy (Bill) was in and out in 15 minutes and cost me less than $100.

These were not critical things and could probably have waited a while, but they were also things I noticed immediately every time I got in the car, and having them done is one more thing I don't have to be upset looking at.

There's a great fella in NZ called Marko who will be shipping me some additional parts for the interior as well so here's hoping they show up soon.

Steering wheel looks great. What did he do?

Removed it, cleaned it, conditioned it, sealed it, re-stitched it.
The guy was so quick I couldn't believe it.

I'll be honest, I've always had my eye out for a better wheel, but after he had done his business it looks better than most second hand ADub wheels I've seen!

Let's be honest it's not gonna win any car shows, but short of having the leather replaced it's looking pretty great.

Update:
MR2 Vic Club membership is complete yay!

Handed in the keys to a mechanic this morning to hopefully have a full roadworthy Cert By tomorrow (could even be today if I'm lucky!)

Nice, just need to see restrictions lifted to you can find a bit more freedom to do some driving.

Feeling a bit disappointed, I've gotta say.

The roadworthy could have gone worse, but not much worse.

I got a call this morning with the mechanic telling me if he submitted the photos of the car as it stood it would likely be red flagged.

I've only ever had roadworthy's done by mechanics who were friends, so if something was wrong for instance, they would say: get this done, and I'd go and get this done.

In this case he said everything needed doing.

Itemised list of things he stated would not pass a roadworthy:

- Front bumper support panel (this is a bar of pure cancer that I've been trying to find a body guy to fabricate, no one wants the job however)
[To be replaced]

- Front and rear tyres (yes they're older but still have more than minimum safe tread)
[To be replaced]

- Engine Oil Leaks (this one I'm unsure of, I've driven this car since I bought it, sporadically of course, and had it garaged for the last 10 months. I've worked on it and not seen any oil leaks, so maybe something new, or maybe it's a result of the heavier rain getting gunk on the engine dripping, not sure)
[Maybe new sump plug?]

- Driver's side wiper jumps
[New wipers]

- Dash to be fixed properly (it's currently awaiting parts from NZ, not sure why he wrote it as it's not loose it's missing, and I advised him of this prior)
[Waiting delivery of replacement parts]

- Engine stalling (I've not had a single stall the entire time I've owned this car, he said it stalled on him 3 times, with one of them being during the failed brake test, he has no reason to lie about this, so what's the go?)

- Passenger Window Operation Not Smooth (I'm fairly certain there is no state that requires an operational passenger window, let alone a smoothly operating one)
[New regulator cogs from twosRus]

Now for the annoying bits that I wasn't aware of:

- All rear end bushes (damn)
[Need replacing]

- Front and Read brake hoses (double damn, thankfully twosRus have the steel replacements fairly cheap)
[Need replacing]

- Brake calipers require overhaul or replacement

- Rear brake pads
[Need replacing]

- Radiator lower support panel has previously been cut with an angle grinder then epoxied back in place (I'm pretty cut up about this one as it sucks)
[More fabrication work.]

New parts new parts.

Bits to fix my shifter, my broken hazard switch, the top of my dash, and replace my missing passenger vent :)
