I was actually checking this car out in the for sale section a few days ago. The tough, boxy shape of aw11s is really starting to grow on me. The two tone paint really accentuates the nice lines imo.

I absolutely love the mk1 shape.

But I'm a sucker for solid lines on a car.

I can't say 'you should get an aw11' because it's your money and your life, but you should get an aw11.

Ok so covid blues had me down for a little while there, and also I was lazy.

But this week I've been busy.

I fitted a new (to me) rearview mirror.
Finally fitted the drivers side mirror glass.

Fitted proper replacement seatbelts and stalks.
(the generic units were a bust... My advice, don't even bother, rather get your busted ones refurbished)

and I booked in to get a new exhaust system fabricated (there's an exhaust leak and it's a good excuse to get something better)

I'd be remiss if I were to leave you without a single picture so here is the new radio as well, the flip out one was trash and cup holders are overrated.

Thanks Mike, i think I honestly would have gone insane with this isolation if I didn't have something to work towards.

The new headunit looks to have improved the viewing angle!

I've come to understand that there's no way to get an aftermarket in there without busting the head unit surround, which is good because mine was already dodgy haha.

Put in some new dash speakers today.
I actually intended for them to be the pillar speakers but I honestly couldn't stomach taking the seatbelts off again for the third time in three weeks, so they'll have to wait.

Took a drive today to Performance Exhaust to drop off the car for an inspection and quote, and obviously I didn't exactly take the most direct route there, it's been three months since I've driven it at all so I wanted to get even a few minutes more .

What a wonderful time it was, the car has so much guts and is such an absolute pleasure.
Dropping a little traction around corners, the back wheels spinning, then slamming the accelerator and feeling the car just dig back into the road is just so exhilarating.

Once this is done I just need to replace the breaklight that just decided to go and then it's off to the mechanic for a roadworthy.

New exhaust fitted and tested this morning, what a huge difference it has made.

Firstly, as it is not full of holes, I'm not getting exhaust fumes in the cabin.

As if that wasn't enough, it's increased the responsiveness by what feels like a whole load.

It almost feels like going from a 1.5l engine to a 2l engine without any weight differences (technically a bit of a weight reduction).
