"Clearanced" the lower rear balljoints a little and the rearend works now. After multiple disassemblies of the rear chasing a grinding noise turned out to be a front brake dustshield rubbing only on left corners. Oil pressure sender also decided to spring a leak which was fun.
But after nearly a month on and off its sorted and driving, need a proper alignment but my home alignment seems to have it driving night and day better for bump steer than before with the geo kit. With any luck might get to a short course session at lakeside next month.

Got ahead of myself making up some ducting for the top mount. Duct came out fine though didn't realise how little space I had above. Fan won't fit with my na lid and 2 fans won't do it either. Unsure if a turbo lid with the fans would work or have to go a sidemount.

Managed to find a turbo engine cover by chance so snapped it up. If my fan doesn't fit on the intercooler now at least I can make a shroud and go the twin fan route.

Finished the duct and then went drag racing. Was a burning hot afternoon, but once it got dark and cooled off a little managed to pull a 13.5 (was 14.1s in the day) which i was amazed with as was only expecting 14ish. Was pretty gentle with the launches, so in the cool probably still has a little bit more in it.
Temps where the main issue for everyone, not sure the shroud was helping as it was to hot to touch. Think its transfering to much heat directly from the tappet cover and the intercooler was to hot to touch also.

I have heard lava rock style shielding is said to be a good thing for where you have the gold reflective.

More shielding the better and any fresh air ducting to there will be ideal. Like brake ducting. Or like the caldina ducts fresh air to the alternator shroud - that kinda concept may help, however the fans should see the best improvement. Fan shrouds were available from a James in Ipswich, unsure if he had any left.

Looks good and coming together :)

Great work mate. Keep it up.

Decided to go the traditional mr2 sidemount setup after the drags. Moved the caldina alternator down to the standard mr2 location which was a mission and started making up a block off plate also.
Was also lucky to pickup some enkeis in 16x8 and 7 to get the factory stagger back. In my haste the tyres are the wrong profile but I can swap my current ones over.

Made the shroud up and fitted it and the cooler. Wish I knew it fitted how it ended up as I went off what I had seen online. Didnt realise I could have left alot more metal on the shroud. Also made up most of a fire extinguisher mount. Not really happy with it so may add a lower mount tab when I get my mate to weld some pipes up

Previously I used a little weather shield foam (Bunnings) between the shroud and the intercooler, some say it's to force all air into the intercooler but really was to stop any vibration noise.

Good work and providing updates :)

Thats exactly what I was worried about, can already hear the shroud flapping about in my head.
I did spy some quarter circle shaped foam at bunnings this morning but thought I would see how it went. Now I know how it wants to sit i may make another plate as it was super simple.
