Well was a good day, pretty much all sorted still exhaust to go but all the majority done. But when we went to move it discovered a horrid sound and finally realised it was the input spline spinning in the clutch spline. I swear we checked it but here we are. Compared the mr2 s54 disc to the caldina box and its same spline count but slightly smaller id. So box out and hope the input is still in good shape.
Not the end of the world but puts it behind schedule alot.

Box is back out, input shaft was in good shape, custom clutch ordered so come Thursday night should be back in and only needing an exhaust finished.

So what is the custom clutch, sprung or unsprung, compound, pressure plate from 3s or 1m... any details to your customising a clutch choice...

Modified caldina pressure plate, organic hd sprung mr2 disc. Direct clutch made the clutch based on s54 box, up to 250rwhp and the odd track day. Have used them for every custom clutch I have needed for years and never gone wrong.

Nearly done, accelerator bracket and finish exhaust to go. Had a little drama finding a belt to fit due to the caldina one being stretched.

Nice work with the swap, very handy having the hoist to speed things along. Will be keen to see this driving. I don't suppose that s54 has an LSD or anything fancy in it?

Cheers. That's my mates shed, makes life alot easier thats for sure. Just a stock s54 from the looks. I'm pretty mechanically sympathetic so hopefully it holds up for a bit as mr2 boxes dont seem to be too readily available
