460kw is an amazing amount of power for a circuit car but like wet toilet paper, it wont last long! Its close to 600hp at the wheels and who knows at the flywheel. Clearly set up has more to do with making a car very quick.
Here is the link to lap records at EC.
http://www.eastern-creek-raceway.com/lap_records.htmAs you can see on this page, no one has a 600hp atw 4wd. The R32 has less power and plenty of restrictions and managed a 42. The startlet did a 45 but is a absolutely crazy car. It had a 2ltr Vtec squezed in the front of it. It was comparable to a SW20 with a 600hp Toyota 4.0ltr V8 in it! Now theres a thought...
240 atw is still plenty power plus they are a later model car with 4wd so I guess you have to expect this. Nissan S14 is a better comparison to an MR2 as they are from the same era, 2.0Turbo, well balanced car .
I agree with weight reduction. Remove as much negative weight as possible then replace with positive weight. Cage, bracing, cooling systems etc. I will remove everything possible in the front of the car to lose 50kg then put 6-7kg of bracing of the chassis and suspension points. Same for the rear.
I removed every bolt not used which will make up for all the seam welding through out the car. I sure I have removed more than I added as a matter of fact. Just a thought.
I found Lexan for $180 a sheet(2.4 x 1.2 x 3mm) if anyone is interested. 2mm is also available. Im picking it up next week.
