The MR2 Owners Club of Australia (VIC Branch) Inc. is planning to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the MR2 with a breakfast meet and Show n Shine in Melbourne on Sunday morning 22 June 2014.  All MR2 owners are invited.

May 1984 the first MR2 that was for sale to the public rolled off the assembly line in Japan.  That was 30 years ago and we are planning a BIG 30th anniversary event to celebrate the occasion.  In 2004 the Victorian Branch of the MR2 Owners Club of Australia held a special event to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the MR2 with a breakfast at Windows on the Bay in Mordialloc and a cruise to Sorrento.  On that occasion we got 65 MR2s together in one place, an Australian record that has not been broken in ten years.  It would be fantastic if we could get a similar number, or even more to a 30th Anniversary celebration of the MR2.
 
Planning is well underway, hopefully Toyota will be on-board and as soon as the location (near Docklands) is confirmed we will let you know  ...........  Stay tuned!!!!

Make sure you are part of the 30th Anniversary of the MR2 in Melbourne.

Time goes by so quickly! I remember attending that 20 year anniversary and still have the polo shirt at home.

Maybe try get on the docklands like 100mm was might be hard to organise though.

I have a 30 year old MR2, but I was going to sell it soon.... it would be perfect for this event though

We have now secured the location.  The Alma Doepel car park, North Wharf Road, near the Bolte Bridge.  Enter via Collins Street and keep going. A prime location close to the Melbourne CBD and a fantastic backdrop of the Docklands area and the Melbourne Star Observation Wheel for that perfect photo (Image - Google maps)

Great news. We have MR2s coming from Brisbane, a contingent from the NSW Branch, and another group from the ACT and at least one from S.A. If we get a good turn out of VIC MR2s this event will be the largest gathering of MR2s in one place in the Southern Hemisphere.

Theres a good change my car will be there, altho its depending on a few factors, but ill try my best!
