we now do all turbo repairs & mods in house
due to demand, we have geared up to overhaul, repair and modify the common CT26 & CT20 Toyota turbos. We use the latest garrett repair kits which have modified seals for longer life. oversized bushes, repaired housings etc are all possible. There is some scope to high-flow the 26 using a Supra wheel , and steel wheels are available to replace the fragile ceramic ones.
Major reworking of the 26 however is not economically viable. if you want a really high power turbo, it is often cheaper to start with a brand new unit. The stock or high flowed units are perfectly OK for stock or moderate performance increases in street cars. The biggest limitation is the choice of wheels. To use a radically different wheel, requires shaft and housing mods which put the price up to much more than a new turbo. The downside of course, is the new turbos require new manifolds etc.
A basic refresh with new seals, bearings etc is typically $660. repairs including steel wheels, new shafts, rebalancing etc take the job to around $1000-$1200 depending on what is used. Hi-flowing adds $250-$300. These are typical prices only. No quotes till your unit is recieved and apart.
