You need to specify which gen 3sgte head you have. Gen 1,2,3 or 4.

I have one if your still in need, one James advised me to get for the gen2 head on 5s, believe its a gen3 TB?

Toyota Genuine PN 13568-79105 brand new.

Not for 'sale', as i need one but not for a little while, so you can have it and order another.

The timing belt you use is based on the oil pump used isn't it? My old engine had a gen 2 head and block but a 5s oil pump. I needed a gen3 tb as it has an extra tooth to suit the larger gear on the oil pump.

I could be totally wrong on this though :)

All sorted boys, yes, generally thats the case and I gave Ken a bit of a bump steer, but this engine had a gen 2 oil pump gear fitted to the 5SFE oil pump.  Khanh's belt was damaged by a foreign body (bolt) down the t-belt cover.  We are yet to establish where it came from or how it got there.

Hopefully it is smooth sailing from here cause this blokes had more issues with his car then he can list!  Sorry I didn't get to this or your PM earlier mate, but we had a very serious incident at work on Wednesday where someone quite easily could have lost there life.  I was on site on not long before and had handed the job over to another party to complete.  I had to return to site to find a work colleague with some pretty serious burns and then accompany him to the hospital so my mind has been wandering the last couple of days, and I haven't even gotten on the forum.

PS: The gen 3 belt is actually a tooth shorter as the pump actually has less teeth (driven faster)

Hmm, yeh i over simplified. Generally people use the pump etc to suit what ever head they have.

Tho im confused about the 5s pump gear. I thought the late 5s pump was the std upgrade for gen2. But i guess thats the pump itself and people would generally be putting the gen2 gear onto it.

Yeah I'm not sure either. I know the oil pump I bought from the states was a shimmed 5s one which is apparently a high pressure / High volume pump compared to the standard gen 2 item.
We just used the gear that was on it with a Gen 3 belt. It imagine the smaller gear (Comapred to gen2) spins the pump quicker to achieve the higher flow rating?

God damn man, you cant get yourself a break can you?  I had to sit at the doctors surgery for 3 hrs in pain, for a 5 min consultation to get some drugs...

Yeah, work's mates incident was pretty serious, he suffered some pretty serious burns due to a 33000V flash over and needed some skin grafts but given some time he'll be okay and there should be no lasting disability etc.  I was at the site earlier and attended not long after the incident and accompanied him to the hospital.  It wasn't a great experience at all and left me fairly shaken.  I completely missed your call last night and was no means trying to ignore you, my mind has just been elsewhere, there were a number of calls that went unanswered last night as I didn't even have my phone on me.  Today I woke up with serious pain and an infected tooth.  As soon as I saw your PM I gave you a call.  I sent you a text message also so let me know what I can do to help out.  If I lived more local mate I'd come round and give you a hand, but alas, it isn't so.
