Aw11 Speedo fix options

The AW11 speedo is prone to failing. Its usually a broken inner drive cable, but other stuff can break as well. Replacing the cable is the obvious fix. Add a GPS speedos is a fix that many will turn to after a few broken cables. SW20 owners are lucky in that the factory changed to an electronic design so there are backward compatible parts. Has anyone checked if the SW20 electronic speedo is compatible with the AW11 facia cutouts, needle and reset button? I can re-scale the full range 180 or 240 km/hr to the required position by resistors.
 
Has anyone done this? Has anyone in Melb got a spare or broken speedo they can take some detailed photos or measurements from or allow me to try it for fitment?
