I have been busy changing from my big and heavy water to air intercooler to an air to air intercooler which is fitted to the boot.
The hypothesis is that I can get at least the same level of cooling with the air to air when compared with the water to air, though with less weight.
I haven't taken the old heat exchanger out of the car yet, though I estimate that the old system weighed at least 30Kg. The new system is around half that.
The new system didn't cost me much money, because I already had the intercooler and pipes. All that I had to buy was the bottle, the pumps, and a couple of silicone joiners. I even already had the two fans. 👍
I have driven it twice with the air to air, and I have made improvements to the efficiency. I haven't tested my latest improvements yet though, which include a water spray.
