5sgte - I was thinking about logging some temps comparing the side mount and top mount but didn't get around to finding out the side mount temps.
I'll get around to logging the top mount intake soon, but I've done a few hard runs and the cold pipe feels only warm. It's way better than what I had, but probably not as good as a w2a set up.
But for under $350 I'm happy.

Good work on the new intercooler. Very satisfying to build your own instead of bolting in a kit.

You should be able to buy a black straight silicone coupler long enough to join the bov pipe to the IC. I think I bought an off the shelf 2.5" in 20 or 30cm in length

Nice fabrication job! It looks awesome! Would love to know if there is a gain in cooling performance over the side mount. Always wonder about a top mount A2A and if the rising heat off the engine would affect it.

Mrskylighter - thanks mate. There is one similar to my set up that Atsracing sell but it's $1200!! Also, I've decided I like those inserts I got off you. Went for a decent drive today and liked the feel of the engine when accelerating. :)
Finally, where did you get your coupler from? Want to get rid of the joiner.

Deco - thanks mate. I don't have any real proof yet but I would say it is better than a side mount set up. A lot of air gets moved upwards through the engine bay and it's nowhere near as close to the dump pipe any more. And the 11 inch Spal fan helps.

Can't remember where I bought mine in blue from. Just checked Ebay and you could go for the one below and just cut it to suit.

The one below can be had in black at any diameter x 1M length. less then $40 shipped from Melbourne.

Or try a double hump hose which will reduce to stress on the intercooler due to less vibration from the engine.

Looks like it might be long enough. Best to check the overall length with the seller before purchase.

Or a single hump hose. The one below is 100mm long which might also be long enough looking at your engine bay pic.

I'll measure it up tomorrow, see exactly how long it needs to be and then probs will go for the double hump one if it's long enough.
Thanks again for the help!

So dropped by Super Crap Auto and managed to get the last black 200mm coupler in stock...for $15. Winning.

Took out the joiner coupler (which was annoying me), and put in the long one.  Looks so much better now.

Also, re-routed the water filler neck and mounted in near the ignitor module. Then I doubled checked everything, made sure nothing was rubbing and put on my cross brace. Had to stack up a few washers on the left-hand side so that it didn't rub against the cooler.  Done!

Next thing on my to do list is install my TRD 300kmph cluster with the Omori boost guage...I hate electrical :/

A few pics after washing and waxing the car this weekend...can't wait until it gets painted in a few months, still too much humidity and rain up here.

However, sometime in the last month one of the centre caps came off my front right wheel.  Devastated...spent like about 4 hours emailing and calling places all over Aus to see if I could get a replacement - no luck :(
