As for the hoist, wouldnt you be better off with a 2 post so you can actually do brake and suspension work aswell?

Beagle_senior:  True...in the ideal world I would like to have both types, 4 posts are so much easier to use when doing services and general maintenance under car.  I used to use my brother's workshop sometimes to work on my car but his new boss has become a *&^%ing idiot and won't let any personal use now - yay.

Bigh - www.talebtyres.com.au/products_closeup.asp?part=&part_no=1076 I bought mine from here...check it out, they can do a wide range of offsets too.  Lol, well I really should thank my Dad, he dug most of it by hand with a jackhammer and us boys helped him concrete it...everyone was itching to use it as the concrete was drying out over a week!!!

In other news, had my 22nd birthday a few months back and decided to use a gift voucher on buying a EBC Blitz SBC i-D Spec R, ordering it this week. At the moment, my Gen 3 is running on stock boost, 13psi, and I want to take it up to 17/18psi after I thoroughly inspect/replace all vacuum hoses, ignition system, and install a downpipe.

With regards to the removal of the fuel tank to replace fuel pump, I followed this write-up www.lovehorsepower.com/MR2_Docs/mr2_fuel_pump_removal.htm  - it is awesome and preetty much explained it step by step.

Well, gave my baby a birthday over the weekend a full service including new dizzy cap and rotor (twosrus), spark plug leads (twosrus), spark plugs (twosrus), 98 JDM 3 spoke steering wheel (Dylmrt) along with new oils and filters.

Also, a quick note here,  I had been using Repco gearbox oil GL5 and didnt like the way it had been shifting through the gears (I've got the a gen 3 LSD gearbox) so changed over to Penrite GL4 75w-90   75w - 80.   Man!!! what a difference....so much better shifting through second and third.

I also gave it a good wash and polish...paint is starting to look tired and scratched up :(

Here's the steering wheel - thanks Dylmrt

Curious...Specifically which Penrite oil are you using? Is it a GL5? Could never find a GL4.

In Vic, my local Bursons store stocks GL4 Penrite Manual Gear Oil 75.
They have branches in NSW

Ahhh ok....That makes sense then. That's a 75-80 GL4. Didn't think Penrite had a current 75-90 GL4.

Yeah it's 75w-80.
I used it with no probs in my S54 trans for a while when I couldn't find any other GL4.

Penrite do have a 75W-90 trans oil - Singear 75, but it's a GL5. That's probably what MIDNIT3 uses.

Since it's a 75-80 GL4 he posted, I assume it's that. Not to mention a GL5 probably wouldn't shift as nice as he describes.
