I'm still VERY keen. And Alison is planning on coming too. Might see if I can put the new rotors on the day before.

Purplefox23 - whats happening with the car man, doesn't sound good, have you taken it to a radiator joint to have a look at it? did they bleed it right?

Purplefox: the SW turbos boil their coolant after a good boost, that's convection pushing the water out of the turbo after turning the engine off, and the resulting temperature just boils it up. It is possible to stop this by disconnecting the water lines to the turbo and joining them together, but it is not advisable unless you have an aftermarket turbine or if you are happy with the risks associated with oil-only cooling :)

It's been back and forth to mechanics, no idea what's wrong with it. I don't know much about engines which doesn't help. so far I've only taken it to a 'general' mechanic because they are close to my work. Ive had it pressure tested which came out fine apparently, I gave him the technical manual for bleeding the system, but he didn't get much air out. Most recently I had an auto electrician check my thermo fan's which weren't working.  They've wired up one of the fans to a manual switch, which has helped a lot, but still not 100%. Im at a loss what to do now, and I don't have the money to chuck at it in hope for a fix.

I should really start my own thread up rather than keep going off topic in these meetup threads :P

Ah. I just assumed bubbling coolant to be overheating. I live in Hope Valley, the Grand Junction Road end of Hancock Road, I'd be glad to get some help, or at least some pointers at what to do, haha.
