Dr.J
The cars I own now is a much more exciting read than my past cars...
I will not include my wrecks. :)
Cars I've owned previously;
  • 1980 Chrysler/Mitsubishi GH Scorpion - first car, had it 4 years, loved it soo much. Would buy another if I had the room.
  • 1984 Mitsubishi Starion - traded Scorpion for this bucket of crap, but I continually fixed it up and eventually retired it to scrap. It didn't put me off Starions either!

Cars I currently own;
  • 1982 Mitsubishi Starion - bought as project for a rally car. I got sidetracked and it never really got finished. Going to pull it apart.
  • 1986 Mitsubishi Starion - Gorgeous Jap import spec, which is now For Sale. Still!
  • 1986 Chrysler Conquest (Mitsubishi Starion  w i d e b o d y ) - 325RWHP of laggy goodness. I'd sell it if I could get anywhere near what I've spent on it. I'll probably just keep it.
  • 1993 Mitsubishi Lancer coupe - 1.8 litre, koni shocks, jamex springs, so much fun to drive and loved being pushed hard. Sold it, then bought it back to sell it, then get it back again. In bits.
  • 1994 Toyota MR2 - I believe you're familiar with this... :)
  • 1997 Nissan Stagea - Daily driver which doesn't get driven daily, and large object mover. I might sell this and buy an X-Trail. No Arty, I am not copying you! :)
  • 2001 Proton Satria GTi - girlfriend's former daily driver, now on permanent loan to one of her friends.
  • 2001 Proton Satria GTi - girlfriend's daily driver, and her track toy with Lotus handling goodness and a turbo!

Dr J, do you have shares in Mitsubishi/Chrysler??

You must have a very large garage, or converted your bedrooms to store cars.  Either way, awesome!

Luckily, I don't have to store all of my cars myself.
Both Protons, and the 1982 Starion are kept elsewhere.
Otherwise, the others are stored at 'Tech Toyz HQ' which is my business premises in Morley.
3 of the cars listed above are for sale, with 2 more ready to be pulled apart.
I need to downsize realistically...

I thought the D16 was a single cam unless you meant the B16? All you need is a K20/24 swap in a stripped EG and slicks and your well in the 12's.

Most people have had smaller cars their whole driving lives, I for the most part have not....

1970 Mazda R100 -  was joint owner with a mate in high school, we got our CAM's licences and did a bunch of hillclimb and motorkhana events. was a 10A rotary, with extended fuel bowls to stop fuel surge when getting chucked around, a second swaybar fitted to the front and a welded diff. Got passed on to our mates younger brother.

1973 XB fairmont coupe - bought this before i had my licence also, most of my school job money went into this thing. Mates dad retrimmed the interior in bone vinyl for me, sanded it back and sprayed it devil red, and the car came with convo wheels, had a reverse pattern c4 trans in it, a detroit locker, no power steering and a mild 302. Used to have to lift myself out of the seat to turn the wheel when parking.

1977 Valiant Charger - Bit off more than i could chew with this one. had some very rare parts in it, and had stripped it down to completely restore the car, but excess chassis rust and years of bodgey repairs put and end to this one as an apprentice mechanic, and was parted out after 6 months. Wish i had kept onto this car.

1992 Vp Calais - The token nugget box whilst i was an apprentice mechanic. This poor car copped a hiding and a half. Over my apprenticeship this car receive a stroker (4.2l v6) cam, headwork, vt brakes, self built manualised auto, tightened diff, complete suspension overhaul. Car was in an accident (my fault) and was parted out and sold.

1988 MR2 - Still own, bought it off an apprentice mechanic, and as such spent the first few years fixing things that were broken and not fixed properly. Still sorting through the car, and trying to develop a proper plan of attack for the car, have many parts waiting in the wings for this car, but no time to work on it, plus it serves as my daily.
