Widely considered as the best AMC design of all time, the AMX/3, debuted at the 1970 Chicago Auto Show. Italian GT maker Giotto Bizzarrini, whose Turin facility hand made drivable mid-engined, steel bodied cars. Bizzarrini prototypes used the AMC 390 cu in (6.4 L) V8 and an Italian OTO Melara four-speed transaxle. Road testing was done by BMW, which declared the AMX/3's chassis one of the stiffest and most neutral handling they had ever tested!
The most highly sought after AMC car! Very rare & highly collectible!
Have a few shots of the AMX/2 & AMX/400, but I don't think they made a yellow in these.

More American Motors Yellow Sports cars. The AMC AMX is a two-seat GT in style and approach sports car that was produced by American Motors Corporation for the 1968 through 1970 model years. The AMX was also classified as a muscle car, but "unique among other American cars at the time due to it's short wheelbase". The AMX was also the only American-built steel-bodied two-seater of its time, with the 1955-1957 Ford Thunderbirds being the last ones. To a degree, the AMX was a competitor with America's only other two-seater of the era, the Chevrolet Corvette for substantially less money. With a one-inch (2.5 cm) shorter wheelbase than the Chevrolet's 2-seater, "the AMX was often seen by the press as a Corvette competitor."

Now for the Iconic Australian "Bolwell Sports Car"

The Bolwell brothers' manufactured in Melbourne during the 1960s and 70s. Built of fibreglass, their power to weight ratio is amazing. As only approximately 800 were built, the Bolwell is considered to be one of the rarest sports cars in the world today.
In 1962 Campbell Bolwell transformed his hobby of building special sports cars into a business. Developing hands-on skills in fibreglass moulds and moulding techniques his first commercial model, the Bolwell Mk. 4, sold over 200 units and is testimony to entrepreneurial flair and dedication to a dream.
Just when everything was looking rosy, along came the oil crisis in 1974. The drop in demand for very high powered vehicles, combined with new Australian design rule changes brought in by the federal government, made survival very difficult for Bolwell.
By the time the last Bolwell vehicle was delivered more than 800 units were sold. Registration figures give less than 200 Bolwells still on the road. Many more remain in the workshops of enthusiasts, waiting for alterations or even to be finished for the first time.

After a long absence from auto production, Bolwell is returning with a 850 kg car powered by a supercharged 3.5L Toyota V6 developing 250 kW.

2005 Gillet Vertigo. According to Wikipedia this car held the record for fastest production car to (60 MPH) 97 KPH (3.1s). 25 have been produced to date, including one controlled by joystick for ex-F1 driver Streiff paralyzed in a crash during testing.

One of the most bizarre sports cars on the market, the Vertigo is also one of the lightest and quickest on the road. The previous version of the Belgian exotic made by former racing driver Tony Gillet packed a 350-horsepower 3.0-litre V6 sourced from Alfa Romeo. Modest enough, but with a curb weight of only 990 kg (2,182 lbs), the Vertigo was capable of accelerating from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in a scant 3.26 seconds.

The new one, however, packs a far more powerful 420-horsepower 4.2-litre Maserati V8, promising to give the unique exotic even more extreme performance. I wouldn't be surprised if it dipped below the 3-second mark. No official word on pricing either – each one is made to order and can be just about infinitely customized – but for reference, the previous V6 model cost around $265,000
