Ok Had a week off work last week, which was great so I had a bit of time to work on the car.

My Park Tools torque wrench finally arrived from the states. 3nm-15nm range. so I could torque down the cam cover bolts properly.

Seen here with the DeltaAV bolt set. (Great set by the way-  except it needed instructions as to what way up the Toyota grommets were supposed to sit, but Trav cleared that up pretty quickly (I also guessed right))

Some of my cam cover bolts were FINGER TIGHT!!!! so bad! no wonder it was leaking stuff everywhere! Also one bolt was impossibly hard to reach without removing the intake manifold (something I didn't want to do) so I estimated the torque for that one (erred on the side of too tight).

Then next was to swap over the shifter linkages (I had replaced the rubber ones under the shifter).   Removing the stock rubber/ metal toyota ones I found this quite badly worn:

Pretty bad!  The other rubber wasn't worn as bad, but did have some rubber degradation!

you can also see the comparison to the DeltaAV replacements (I can't recommend these highly enough). After I fixed my shifting issue, I thought I didn't need these, but having installed them - DEFINITELY worth the cash. ESP looking at my worn rubbers.  I did find that I required to press them into the linkages somewhat, being metal - the tolerances were extremely tight (not a bad thing- just a bit of a job).
Then I degreesed the engine bay / engine and will look for leaks.  Back to Hotham this weekend - should sort anything out pretty quick.

Ok headunit is in, for the price, it's awesome. I'm starting to think of where to mount a reverse camera in the car...

Having a few electrical issues again, horn isn't working, and the ic fan not running is beginning to get to me, so starting to troubleshoot that. Tried jumpering pins 1,7 of the fan ecu, but that didn't work. It sure if I was supposed to plug it back into the ecu or not. It looks like the issue may be elsewhere. I'm wondering if the higher load killed a relay. Or something....

Well Sussed it out. It was in fact the relay that blew. After Xmas I will go grab a new one :) one less thing wrong with the car :)

Next up the horn has stopped working :p

I also need to take it to a garage and get the oil leak fixed..

ok planning a few things to get done to the car to keep her running nice.

Brakes are really shuddering and pads are low (I have to check if there is any issues with loose bolts or if the rotors are warped).
I'm thinking of going back to stock mr2 brakes.  I don't track my car, and while having big brakes is sexy as heck, the willwoods need an overhaul I think.  The stock calipers will get a nice little clean and paint bright red.  I'd go and look at the skyline brake upgrade but honestly I'm a bit over upgrading the car when it gets basically driven on errands and  to the station and backso will be looking at keeping it on the road vs upgrading it. So I'll be listing the willwoods here soon...

Next up - my front left swaybar bushing is basically toasted.  So will upgrade to a whiteline swaybar front and DeltaV reinforcement plates.

I'm still tossing up putting the Microtech into the car (but time is more my issue atm).  I did have a thread looking for EOIs on it, but that got zero interest...

I've still got my oil leak, but waiting for something major to happen so engine comes out....

I want to mount my amp the boot with a false bottom for a better look (and to avoild anything metal touching the contacts...

I still want to spray the side strip on the car white, and clean up where I accidentally cut back the clearcoat too far... (if that's possible)

And finally I'm also over having no AC in the car.  Mgiht get that sorted.

OK decisions need to be made.  Installed the whiteline sway bar in the car, and had a look at the brake situation. Pads are very low, and the LHS caliper is DEFINITELY leaking through the piston region which means at a minimum rebuild + new seal and possible piston time.

The rotors also need machining/replacing so I think I'll let them go very cheap if anyone is interested please shoot me a PM.

Ordering stock bits and will be painting the callipers before they go back on. Me thinks, but yeah back to stock. I need the simplicity of standard brakes.  The willwoods visually and performance wise are amazing, but yeah, also looking to reduce cost of running.

How many k's did the Willwoods last before your probs?

Fairly sure the calipers were always leaking... I should have checked them out properly when I installed them.

The rotors warped on a snow trip... it was really a case of these are great, next thing vibrations under braking like the dickens.
