I've read your posts and checked your picks and I'm officially bummed out!.  Looks like an awesome gathering!.

I finally took time off from work to ensure I could make a meet, Phoned the mechanic to ensure he'd have the car done, but he rang 3 days before to let me know the car would still not be finished... perhaps I'll make the next one... I'll call my mechanic and ask if he thinks the car might be looking like being done by 2046 for the 60th cruise. maybe i'll get lucky!.

Thanks to all who put in the time to organise a great day out. A fantastic selection of cars from stock (well, almost) to full on.

maj, there seems to be quite a bit of conjecture as to what determines a Super Edition. Mine is how I bought it, apart from me adding Koni adjustables. I have never seen any brochures or other advertising, but all my paint & interior codes match the plaque, & they are definitely different to the standard colours & patterns.

Yeah was just an interesting observation. I don't doubt it is the first super edition (the later being the 8E4 blue one), just found it very fascinating that it was different to the assumed knowledge that runs with the 88 model. If anything you can take away from this that a lot of time is spent admiring your car :P

Maybe it's possible they were released early in the 88 build year so they did happen to use some leftover 87 parts, it wouldn't be the first time this has happened; some early 86 NA models still have series 1 interior and suspension parts, despite them clearly being the facelifted model. Not that the 88 is much different from the 87 at all anyway; they didn't receive the aero retracting mirrors or anything like that.

Don't want to get anything for one of your many Spyder's Pete? Oh well, if not, I'm sure one of the club members or others from the day would take you up on your offer.
