Thanks for all the ecouragement guys, I know there are probably better routes to go, but most if not all of these routes have been pretty well travelled. -- I want to be unique.
Money wise -- I got the F20c cheap from japan, if I was to do a K-series swap I would require an integra gearbox aswell. All the mounts would be custom, custom shifter cables. etc. With the F20c I can bolt it up to the existing box and fab 2 mounts... thats pretty much it (apart from plumbing and wiring and the custom flywheel). The extra couple of hundred RPM limit appeals to me too.
I'm hoping the engine package will be quite a bit lighter and I'm not running a spare, aircon, or any trim in the boot or frunk. The 1000kg is probably a bit optimistic, but gotta have an aim haha.
