We are flying but have hired a minivan and a 2 story place in Parra to stay.

Jetstar have flights Adelaide - Sydney for $79 throughout August.
plenty of cheap morning flights, and a cheap midday Monday flight.

On sale til end of July

Virgin have a sale for $105 til July 3 as well.
Might be better value depending on baggage and taxes and all that other crap that Jetstar seem to love reaming everyone for.
