Well I've been busy with all the small things, but making good ground. Still got to spray my sump as it looks poo. Then I can start putting on some outer sexy bits.

I can't wait either, it's been too long since I've felt boost or had any fun in the twisties. No, I used the 5s block and obviously the crank too.

Haha, I was at Lee's yesterday afternoon and he said you had been there during the day, finishing up your motor. Should have recognised his busted up old hoist in those previous pics :D

so you just removed the balance shafts from the block?

Just the reason i ask is whats said in road & track article about how to build a 5s but its easier for me find a later model block

MMM never read that before. There are heaps of people out there using this block without any dramas. Did he give any reasons why to aviod these?

Dont think there is any reason.

Its what everyone uses in the states. The counter balance gear can be pressed off if you wish to save a little weight. doesn't matter either way provided the crankshaft has been balanced.
