Where is the oil temp sensor mounted? 120c is kind of the limit before most oils start to completely break down. You really want it to get it in the 105-110 region. Maybe bend up a sheet of aluminum to duct air through the oil cooler and pick it up a bit from under the car.

Yeah, that was my next plan of attack.  I located the sensor straight from the sump line, as the smallport from factory has the line there for the standard cooler - I just tapped into that.   Is there a more suitable spot to located the sensor?

I've always put oil temp sensors in the sump itself.  At least then you know how hot the oil is as its about to hit the engine to try and cool it... And yeah, 120 deg C is on the high side... Much more and you turn it to the consistency of water lol

Ok, I will install a pull fan on the cooler & make a shroud to channel the air directly onto from underneath.  Then see how it goes.

It owes me just under $1000 now.

Thanks for allowing me to drive the AW at MTC. Such a great little car to drive. Quite different from the SW20.
If you fabricate a duct from your air intake to the oil cooler so air will only travel through the cooler and no where else, you should not have any issues. I did this to my car which worked well.
Maybe you could add some ducting to the underside of the car to improve airflow into the engine bay. also improving airflow out of the engine bay will also help.

Looks like fun. I've had three Corolla 4AGE TwinCams - two AE-82 and then an AE-92. Great motor.

Small update:

Bit hard to see, but fitted a 8' push fan on the under neath of the oil cooler, will see how this improves / reduces the engine oil temp.

Finally ripped out the flooring carpet, centre radio support bracket & lowered the drivers seat by 20mm... really starting to feel bare now.

As nice as this little Adub is around the track, I cant help fight the lack of a turbo feel.... I think next plan is to throw on a small turbo (GT25 or 28).
Does anyone have a 4agze ecu for sale??

If you have time to think about lacking a turbo, your not driving it hard enough then ;)

Aaron.... theres a lot of thinking time available down straights & coming out of corners!  I'd love to be occupied with other things... like catching that car just up ahead :-)
