Hi folks,
While my engine's out for a rebuild, I'm putting together a shopping list for upgrades and would value any comments.
Main things remaining for my car are decent intercooling and fuel delivery. It's a road registered, medium core track car, I'm hoping to go for 220-240 rwkw.
In terms of intercooling, I was thinking of W2A, looking at the frozenboost 600hp kit (type 3 core and type118 radiator). Anyone know if the radiator will fit OK? (measure 66cm x 18 x 5) $645 delivered with reservoir.
 
For fueling, I was looking at the wolfkatz topfeed fuel rail, 950cc injectors & walbro pump. $907 delivered. I've read that the stock gen 2 FPR should be ok for this level of fueling - sound ok?
 
Background on current setup etc - gen2 3s-gte, hi-flow turbo ala ct27, 3" berk downpipe & twin exhaust, gizzmo EBC. Looks like gen 3 throttle body. Engine will be rebuilt nice & strong by a perfectionist. Undecided on EMS to run this with. Was figuring on not upgrading cams, intake or exhaust manifolds for this power level, but open minded if I'm really missing something!

If you're going to stick with the CT26/27 then you don't need cams, large injectors and rail. I don't think you'll see much more then 200-210rwkw with a ct27/ct20b/ct26 high flow.
 
In my opinion a Walbro pump would be necessary along with some 540/550cc side feed injectors in the stock rail (or ported rail) utilising the stock FPR.
 
The EMS will help get you a little more power but for the money spent on it plus tuning it might just not be worth it for the amount of gain you'll see.
 
If you are getting the block rebuilt I would at least put in some forged pistons, metal HG and ARP head studs. That way you can go nuts in the future if your plans change.
 
That is my 2c anyway. I'm sure others will have even more suggestions :)

I'd be needing an EMS anyway to run the larger injectors right?
Fueling was the big limitation previously, was putting out a max 185rwkw @15 psi on the stock 440 injectors and ecu, with greddy/ebay sidemount. At that point the injectors were going 100% and beyond 15 psi the AFR started to head up. So hopefully this plan will allow me to keep the boost and power up for multiple laps, nice & reliable. Agree on the rebuild items by the way.

I have used that frozen boost kit, its very good. Are you sure the radiator is 5 cm thick, mine was 2.5 from memory? If 5 cm you might have trouble fitting it in. Are you getting the filler cap thingo as well, they are pretty handy to have? Considered E85?

Well the type 118 radiator is 2" thick. I can't see a thinner one from them.
Did you use theirs or something else?
 
E85 - hadn't really considered it. I'm kind of making a list of things I MUST do and a list of things I COULD do lol.
For simplicity I haven't gone there.
 

You need ecu if changing injectors. Main things I recommend to future proof without going nuts:

Walbro e85 compatible pump, change banjo fitting & direct wire
Injectors/rail (port dual feed stocker or change)
ARP fasteners, rod bolts, head studs
Metal HG
Forged pistons (max 20thou over)
Intercooler (if you can)
ECU (something flex sensor compatible)
TVIS removal or change intake manifold

You can do cams, turbo & e85 flex later if you wish.

I have the type 100 radiator in mine (pretty sure the same as Stuka)
I have the type 5 W2A in mine and think Stuka's was the type 3

Thanks folks. Yeah the intercooler will be happening, current sidemount heat soaks very easily. In fact most or all of the recommendations, I'll probably have way more power than I can handle. Will be nice and reliable, and I guess I'll have further options in the future!

I also have a 600hp frozen boost kit on my aw11, and it keeps up quite well.

The bit nobody has covered yet here is the water pump. I selected to upgrade to the bosch unit over their basic bilge pump, which worked fine.

I have since upgraded again to a davis craig pump, which has proven to be more reliable and helped with temps.

Jabsco, 'cyclone' I think they call them these days.  I was surprised at how little noise it made.
