Hey guys I have a very odd issue with my clutch
So the car is a 92 import originally NA, now with a 2002 1mz with 150xxxKs and an e153 that has recently been rebuilt, aluminium flywheel and exedy heavy duty clutch.
The problem is you first start the car the clutch is perfect, about just enough free play before it engages and you can shift consistently and smoothly. As it warms up the free play gets less and less to the point where you can't change gears or if stuck at lights it will now stall the car BUT it's not fixed like this if you begin to drive or turn the car back on it returns to normal and shifting is nice and easy again but will steadily get worse and worse.
Never seems to be an issue if continually driving I have been on long drives and not had problems but shifting when the car is already moving is always easier, mainly only becomes an issue when you come to a stop.
System has been bled twice running dot4 fluid
Clutch flywheel and pressure plate has all just been replaced and no change
Also less than 5000ks on the slave cylinder

Not seeing your engine setup etc.....it sounds like your clutch line is sitting on the exhaust or too close and boiling the fluid at a guess. Car turns off, clutch fluid cools get pressure again. When cold hasn't boiled yet also good? Just at a guess. You have new fluid right.

That was actually exactly what I was thinking.
None of the clutch lines are to close to exhaust which is also heat wrapped. The braided line does however sit right up against a silicon coolant hose. Would that get hot enough to boil brand new fluid?

The coolant hose definitely couldn't get hot enough to boil the fluid unless your clutch fluid can boil at less then water temp. You have new fluid in there right? If not changing fluid should solve your problem.

Sorry yea the fluid has been replaced twice in the last 9 months with brand new fluid. The stuff in there now is less than a week old

I guess all you can really do is check the slave cylinder for leaks and have someone push the clutch to see the slave cylinder pin working correctly and not jamming but being new should be fine.
When it happens try pumping the clutch fast to see if that helps to engage. If it does then you know its the fluid boiling.
Another thing is, when its happening if you raise the revs does that help at all?
Was it happening before the new clutch and pressure plate, if not then there is your answer?

Slave cylinder isn't leaking Iv checked that and pumping the clutch doesn't seem to help that I have seen. Yea it was happening before, that was one of the reasons I changed it all. I had wanted to upgrade to a heavy duty and lightweight flywheel and figured it may fix the issue too but it didn't

Was it ever fine? Like you have a engine change and all involved. So lots different to standard. Has it always had this problem or did it just start all of a sudden one day?
Still seems like your boiling fluid somehow. Very weird problem, like driving off it gets fine but stationary it starts to boil.....

No ever since the engine swap it's been like this which is probably only 3 or 4 thousand ks. Yea it is super strange. Iv driven for 2 hours pretty much without stopping up and down the old PAC highway and never had an issue once but driving around town pretty much every second set of lights.

Have you checked basics like clutch pedal adjustment? Does your fluid level drop or remain at correct level?
