No need to upgrade the OEM iginition system unless your pushing like 400-500HP.

Its a Toyota, not a Nissan. Most of the stock parts are as good as aftermarket. ;)

what are ur power goals?
do u mean msd ignition amplifier or ignition controller?
no point trying to beef up ur ignition components, stock oem ignition system(in good working order) is more than enough if ur running stock motor/stock turbo  even up to 16psi of boost.
regarding msd ignition controller u might aswell get an EMS that controls both fuel and ignition, makes tuning simpler and makes it easier down the track to swith to bigger turbo/fuel system and more boost

right now i just want to keep it how it is, all OEM. But down the track when i hopefully have more money to play with i want to get it up to 400-500 HP. Just taking in info from the pros I guess. :)
Not sure, just know it had an msd ignition thats all.

As Tipsiduce said first thing you should look at after replacing the igniter is rotor plus cap, alone they can rob you 20% of you power as ignition timing creates boost.

The very last upgrade to a worked 3SGTE would be ignition as the stock unit is more than enough.

if you do want to upgrade ICE ignition is the way to go.
